JOB DESCRIPTION
COSI, the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an experienced, energetic, strategic relationship builder to cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support our mission. This new Senior Director position, reporting directly to the Vice President of Advancement, will be responsible for managing effective relationships with donors and prospects, primarily in the $25,000 - $99,000 gift levels, and will manage and provide relationship support for COSI's Advisory Council, an expanding group of volunteer community and business leaders.   This position will be instrumental in assisting the organization in its preparation for a special gifts initiative.  

Must possess a minimum of five years of demonstrated success in high level development and fundraising, preferably with significant major gift, capital campaign, and planned giving experience.  Must possess strong organizational, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.  Integrity, professionalism, good judgment, and high standards for customer service are crucial.  A BA/BS in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is necessary with a Graduate level degree and CFRE certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential and experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising database highly preferred.
