United Church Homes, Inc., founded by predecessors of today's United Church of Christ (UCC) denomination with corporate offices based in Marion, Ohio, is seeking an exceptional individual for the position of Vice President (VP) of Institutional Advancement.  

The successful candidate will work closely with the President & CEO and board of directors to provide executive level leadership for all aspects of the organization's corporate and subsidiary donor cultivation, fund-raising, major and planned gift solicitation, and capital campaign planning.  The ultimate goal of this position is to foster a broader “culture of philanthropy” that connects with the core of United Church Homes' mission and its approach to friend and fund development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, implementing, managing and evaluating a comprehensive philanthropic program.  This includes identifying and cultivating individual, foundation and corporate donors, developing major and planned gifts, directing annual giving, direct mail efforts, special events and e-philanthropy, as well as overseeing social media and other corporate communications as they pertain to institutional advancement matters. The position also supports the individual campus administrators in their local fund-raising efforts.

This position reports directly to the President & CEO of UCH and serves on the executive leadership team.  We are looking for an energetic, creative, and passionate leader to help open opportunities for the organization to engage its many key stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in creating and sustaining the organizational structure for a dynamic and vital advancement program fitting for an organization of United Church Homes' history and national impact.

The qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of progressive fundraising experience including 3 years of senior management experience. A master's degree is preferred.  CFRE accreditation or ability to attain is normally required.  Direct experience in the senior living or health care industry preferred. Position involves extensive schedule of travel to member facilities, primarily within Ohio.  Other travel for professional, church, and trade associations normally expected.
