General Description:

The Associate Director of Development will advance the mission of Miami University by planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal involvement and financial commitment of alumni and friends.  Particular emphasis will be given to securing major gift support to benefit the MBA program in the Farmer School of Business.

Specific Duties:

Serve as one of the departmental liaisons for the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in addressing their philanthropic and alumni relations objectives.

Effect solicitation and stewardship calls to alumni and friends made alone and with other staff, faculty, administrators, and alumni volunteers.  Encourage and coordinate involvement of alumni and friends through campus visits and regional events.

Develop departmental and divisional proposals with the input and assistance of the faculty, staff, administrators, and deans.

Manages a personal portfolio of top MBA program donors and prospects and personally solicits their support.

Develop and implement service, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for assigned prospects with the support of Advancement Services and Development staff and faculty and administrators.

Perform other duties related to the mission of the Office of Development under the guidance of the Senior Director of Development for the Farmer School of Business.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree required; minimum five years of Corporate Sales experience and / or Development experience, preferably in an educational setting; outstanding oral and written communication skills; commitment to collaborative approach to fundraising; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; and willingness to travel extensively both on a regional and national level.
