Central Ohio Chapter of AFP Committee Descriptions and Contacts

Coordinates all event details, communications/print collateral, program, theme, décor, and day-of logistics for the chapter's premier event.
National Philanthropy Day Nominations - Lori Hunter Overmyer, MBA, CFRE (614-228-3269; lori@goettler.com)
Seeks nominations for and oversees selection of awardees for annual premier event; serves as primary contact for awardees to enhance NPD experience.
Oversees monthly and annual budgeting process and chapter earned revenue programs. Develops additional ideas for new/increased chapter revenues.

Some January/February work developing this year's sponsorship packet (compiling “menu” of opportunities). Couple hours a month following up and contacting (March-July), busier in August/September as we push to finalize NPD sponsorships. Light in November/December.

Provides chapter members with the opportunity for one-on-one assistance which will enhance their skills and knowledge as development professionals; recruits Mentors and Mentees as well as overseeing the program.

Coordinates web-site postings for employment opportunities offered by local nonprofits; promotes and manages advertising opportunities through the on-line Consultant and Resource Directory.

Committee members educate and inform the chapter membership regarding AFP legislative and regulatory policy related to current and emerging issues affecting fundraising and the nonprofit sector. This committee works with National AFP staff to assist chapter members with formulating strategies to develop and make contacts with federal, state/provincial, and local policy makers.
Committee members will explore the possibility for the Central Ohio Chapter to assist in establishing a collegiate chapter in central Ohio, and if feasible, plan the launch of the chapter in 2010 or 2011.

Plans implements, coordinates and evaluates annual offering of an AFP education program (e.g. Fundamentals in Fundraising) in coordination with the Education VP.
