“The opportunity to mentor a co-professional in the world of philanthropy has renewed my passion for good stewardship as a fundraiser.
Both my mentee and I have grown and have realized great benefit from continuing to work together.”
Rick Jeric, Mentor 2011
Executive Director of Development and Planning
Catholic Diocese of Columbus

Dear fellow Central Ohio AFP members,

You are invited to participate in the 2012 AFP mentoring program!  With your active AFP membership and your commitment of time, you can be paired with a special mentor or volunteer to lead an eager mentee, so that you too can “realize great benefit from working together.”

This program continues to offer two tracks:

Mentoring for Core Competencies:
Participation as a Mentor is available to members of AFP Central Ohio Chapter who have at least 5-7 years of experience in several areas of fundraising.
Participation as a Mentee is available to Chapter members with at least one complete year of fundraising experience at a nonprofit organization, willing to make this program a priority, and is willing to volunteer for a Central Ohio AFP Chapter committee.

Mentoring for Skill Advancement and Expansion:
Participation as a Mentor is available to members of AFP Central Ohio Chapter who have from 12+ years of fundraising experience that most likely will include management, managing up, budgeting, board development, etc.  Participation as a Mentee is available to mid-level members with 5-7 years experience who are looking for guidance as their job responsibilities grow and change.

New Mentor/Mentee parings will be assigned based on the best matches of skill set and areas of expertise.  Members who have participated in years past are encouraged to participate again - maybe once you were a mentor and now you could be a mentee or vice versa with our two track program.  This program is as fulfilling for mentors as it is for mentees, because teaching is often the best way to learn.

Please respond by using the links below to download your application form.  Make sure to indicate your preference for the Core Competency or Skill Advancement level (forms are the same for both levels).  When completed, mail (or e-mail), along with your resume to me at the below address.  Our kick off gathering is scheduled for a breakfast meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2012.

Applications are due by December 15, 2011.  We hope you will strongly consider this valuable opportunity to tap into the experiences and expertise of fellow AFP professionals.
